Firefox Desktop Notifications Add-on

Various Projects

Over the years I’ve had the chance to work with large and small companies. On enterprise software, mobile apps, browsers and games. As a contractor, remote employee, and full-time in an office. Below are a few various examples.

Firefox Desktop Notifications Add-on

Firefox Desktop Notifications Add-on

The notifications add-on allows users to get a notification of new content on a specified web page. This removed a step of the users having to visit this page to learn if new content exists for them to read. Visual design and wireframes by me. Dev by Jeff Balogh. (2010)

Storyarc for First Responder Training Game

Storyarc for First Responder Training Game

The storyarc represents the height of an emergency and the steps and characters that follow thereafter. Throughout the linear game, the first responder must react to various milestones. This doc was the birds-eye level for our game plan and corresponded with character descriptions and a script.

Hasbro Clue

Hasbro Clue

Redesigning the board game Clue for desktop game play meant redesigning the flow to reduce the time to reward for the player. I designed 3 flows for the game to present to the client. Since development had to start right away, I also scoped out the elements (ie: screens, interactions, newsletter, contest sign-up) that the devs could start on while game play was still in discussion.

Solving a sign-up flow issue for Wander

Solving a sign-up flow issue for Wander

Wander became an app called Days, which was bought by Yahoo! in 2014. They had a unique issue where they had varying credentials for their users (no info, email only, email + password). This flow and supporting UI allowed Wander to get all users on the same level in the sign-up flow so that we could onboard them appropriately to the new release of the app. (Visual design by Keenan Cummings)

Huey: Prototype App for Philips Hue Bulbs

Huey: Prototype App for Philips Hue Bulbs

Current Philips Hue apps felt too complicated and didn't have the workflow that matched how we use our Hue bulbs (ie: 2 user-household, remember the last set color, allow for guests to join easily, prioritize logical & pleasant household colors, and smoothly allow for 10+ bulbs) Together with Cathy Shive (iOS developer), we designed a prototype for Philips Hue lamps. I currently use this in my home as we plan for the next iteration of the app.
